Virgin Voyages continues to grow its new fleet with its third ship, Resilient Lady. Slated for Mediterranean itineraries before moving on to the Caribbean, the ship continues Virgin’s work in refining its identity as a cruise line, so don’t expect anything necessarily ground-breaking. There are three, new and upscale family restaurants designed with Disney magic in mind. One is Frozen-themed, with Norwegian cuisine; another is cinematic in style and Avengers-focused; the last new dining option channels the glitz and glamour of Old Hollywood, with a Roaring 20s vibe. Otherwise, Carnival cruisers can expect all of their normal favorites, from long-standing Carnival dining options, such as Guy’s Burger Joint, to newer options, like Shaq’s Big Chicken.

Icon of the Seas
Among lodging options, Icon of the Seas will boast 14 new cabin and suite types plus 14 categories of rooms that already exist on earlier Royal Caribbean ships. Cruise Radio prioritizes well-balanced cruise news coverage and accurate reporting, paired with ship reviews and tips. Another gem in the Royal Caribbean crown, Utopia of the Seas, follows Icon of the Seas with state-of-the-art amenities and revolutionary LNG power, marking another stride in the cruise line’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Luxury cruise line Silversea presents Silver Ray, a beacon of luxury and exclusivity. With a focus on intimate, ultra-luxury cruising, this ship caters to travelers seeking a truly personalized and refined journey. The ship will also boast the largest MSC Yacht Club in the entire MSC Cruises fleet.

Celebrity Beyond is the third ship in Celebrity’s Edge Series, building on all of the successful components that cruisers loved in past Edge ships, with even more to enjoy. The Altitude entertainment and activity zone offers new ways for families to have fun, too, such as with the Altitude Skywalk, a high rope course; a nine-hole miniature golf course; and Altitude Splash Valley, a water area for kids. In total, you’ll find seven pools (including Royal Caribbean’s first pool with swim-up bar), 22 different eateries, the popular Central Park, ice-skating rink, and more. It can transform seating arrangements to fit different shows, including circular seating with a stage in the middle — unlike other ships at sea. Utopia of the Seas is the Next Huge Oasis-Class Ship From Royal Caribbean
At 250,800 gross tons and a total capacity of up to 10,000 passengers and crew, it will claim the title of the world's largest cruise ship. Icon will showcase eight distinct “neighborhoods,” of which five are brand-new concepts, and it will feature the largest array of family-centric accommodations in the entire Royal Caribbean fleet. The new Disney Tresure is set to enter service for Disney Cruise Line on December 21, 2024. A sister to the 2022-built Disney Wish, the 140,000-ton vessel is offering a series of week-long cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas during its inaugural season. A second U.S.-built cruise ship is entering service in 2024, the American Legend. Under construction at the Chesapeake shipyard in Maryland, the 109-guest ship will spend its inaugural season offering American Cruise Line’s Florida Gulf Coast & Keys Cruise.
About 65% of the public spaces on the ship have been redesigned from previous MSC Cruises designs. There’ll be eight unique ship neighborhoods, a first for the line, including a neighborhood just for suite guests with its own restaurant, sun deck and lounge. A redesigned Boardwalk will feature a redesigned AquaTheater, while the water park features the tallest water slide at sea. Between January 2024 and December 2027, more than 30 ocean-going cruise ships are on order across the global cruise industry. After being delivered to Royal Caribbean International in late 2023, the new Icon of the Seas is set to enter service on January 27, 2024. Set to spend its inaugural season in the Caribbean, the 250,800-ton vessel will take over the title of biggest cruise ship in the world from its fleet mate Wonder of the Seas.
To take advantage of all the newest and best features found on this ship, book a Sky Suite, which will now feature the largest balconies in the Princess fleet, at more than 1,000 square feet. As the sixth in the Oasis-class series, Utopia of the Seas will launch in July 2024 and hold 5,668 guests (double occupancy). The ship’s Caribbean-inspired Pesky Parrot bar along the Royal Promenade, plus a food truck around the pool, are new highlights. Headlining the vessel will be The Dome, taking inspiration from Santorini, Greece, for an indoor-outdoor pool experience by day, then switching to high-energy acrobatic shows by night.

The 82-passenger AmaLilia will join AmaDahlia to offer itineraries that begin with a pre-cruise stay in Cairo before joining the ship in Luxor for a roundtrip sail. All in all, there will be more than 40 different dining and drinking venues on the ship, including 10 free dining options and 11 specialty dining options. If you’ve already cruised on Silver Nova, you won’t notice much difference between the two sister ships, as Silver Ray is essentially the same — but that’s all the more reason to love the ship.
Speaking of vibes, if you're looking for a secluded place to drink (as in, not the swim-up pool bar), few will top the Overlook Pods, perched just behind the AquaDome. It's the first show-at-sea I've seen with a waterfall and nine-foot-tall robotic arms, and so far, it's one of my favorites. The ship's riff on Broadway-approved "Wizard of Oz" — 16-piece live orchestra and flying bed included — delighted me, a hater of most musicals. There's no need to grab coffee before harnessing up for the part-zipling, part-agility Crown's Edge course. You'll be jolted awake when the floor drops from beneath your feet, leaving you dangling 154 feet above the ocean before the zipline kicks in. Options will include the line's first upscale Thai restaurant and a dedicated plant-based venue.
The second venue, The Dusk Bar, will be an open-air sky bar at the back of the vessel that, like Marquee, is positioned on the port side of the ship. Like Silver Nova, Silver Ray will be bigger than Silversea's previous ships and feature an unusual, asymmetrical design for its public decks that reorients its key features toward the sides of the ship instead of the center. Whether you're floating in the ship's main pool or dining at its open-air Marquee restaurant, you'll be looking out at the sea (or whatever destination the ship is visiting) like you've never been able to before. A new juice bar and a cafe near the main pool will serve healthy dishes, and the ship's spa is being built as a temple to wellness. The ship will offer 15 different places to grab a bite, more than double the number on the line's other ships. The options will include Aji Wa, a new restaurant concept for Cunard that will serve Japanese cuisine influenced by the seasons of the year.
